Fagen Pharmacy - Purdue University Community Pharmacy Residency Program

Fagen Pharmacy was founded in 1972 with the desire to provide quality, caring pharmacy services to patients in a community setting.  The company currently has 23 stores located throughout Northwest Indiana and Northeast Illinois.  Through the years, Fagen Pharmacy has strived to develop new ways in which it can make a difference in our patient's communities.

The Fagen Pharmacy/Purdue University PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program is a one year training program that will prepare residency graduates to assume patient care positions and create innovative pharmacy services in a community setting.  The residency program consists of longitudinal learning experiences in:

Through these experiences, residents will learn the skills necessary to implement or enhance patient care services to ensure economic viability and service sustainability.  Residents will also complete the requirements for a teaching certificate and will gain experience in teaching through the program’s collaboration with the Purdue University College of Pharmacy.  Finally, residents will complete a structured research series through Purdue University that will enable residents to receive mentoring on each aspect of their research project.

The residency program seeks motivated candidates with the desire to be a practice leader in community pharmacy by advancing patient care and creating sustainable pharmacy practice models.

Benefits include an annual stipend, employee health insurance, and financial assistance for attendance to select professional meetings.

Prospective candidates must be graduates of an accredited college of pharmacy and be eligible for licensure in Indiana.  Candidates also must submit a residency application and letter of intent, along with their CV, copy of college transcripts, and three letters of recommendation.

The application for the Fagen Pharmacy/Purdue University PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program is available on PhORCAS.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sarah Oprinovich.
