Exercise Your Way into Health
Spring is here and summer is fast approaching! Now is a great time to get outside and enjoy the weather, and while you are out there, exercise! Exercise has many benefits. Exercise decreases blood glucose, blood pressure, and cholesterol which in turn reduce the risk for heart disease and stroke.
Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, anxiety and depression. More energy and better sleep are some added benefits as well. Exercise also helps to strengthen your heart, muscles, and bones. A combination of diet and exercise can help you lose weight.
Before you start exercising, make sure you get your doctor’s ok. Start slow with three- five to ten minute walks per week. From there you can increase the number of minutes working your way up to a goal of thirty minutes.
Once you have achieved that goal, try increasing the number of walks per week. Before you know it, you will be feeling great about yourself and ready for bathing suit season!
